Touch of Health

Touch of Health began after Your Bible Speaks Community SDA Church worked with 5 other churches and the Portland Chapter of Operation ReachBack to  sponsor, under the name of PHAT(Portland Health Advocacy Team), two five day seminars and two ten week follow-ups in the study of the Biblical laws of health.

Touch of Health is Your Bible Speaks continuing effort to advocate for being in optimal health by following the laws of health that are outlined in the Bible. By so doing, we hope to teach our community how to take control of our health and not to leave it to chance or the roll of the dice by the genes we are given. We were created by God to live forever, not to have diseases govern our very existence and to determine our lifespan. We have a choice in the health we have but we need to understand the health consequences of the choices of making the wrong choices as far as the health laws are concerned.

It is our desire to bring speakers knowledgeable and experienced in the different health laws to help us understand those consequences (diseases) (disease defined: the body’s reaction against the violation of the health laws) of those violations. It is through that understanding that we can make good choices and avoid the never ending pharmaceuticals prescribed and doctors visited.
